How Will People First Build a Better Future for America?

We’ll create a new power base.

We intend to build a power base of informed voters. Voters like you, if you’ll support us. Voters who see that today’s Congress is broken, but can be fixed with People First principles, and with leaders who are willing and able to stand up against the forces that keep this broken system in power. Voters who will vote for People First leaders, leaders who are non-political people of character and integrity, and who will stand up to the power brokers who have a chokehold on our Congress. This People First power base is the only legitimate power base, the only true power base, for a nation such as ours…you guessed it…“we the people.”

We’ll put true leaders, not party sycophants, into Congress.

We intend to find and support the kinds of leaders the nation needs to fix Congress, break all the blockages that cripple and pervert our Constitutional form of government, and, at long last, deal with the real problems facing our nation. We’ll identify and recruit candidates who think independently, who will stand up to the entrenched parties and special interests, and who will lead from a higher purpose, putting themselves second, and the nation first. We’ll vet these candidates to be sure they’re the real deal, not merely puppet candidates like most of today’s legislators, who look good and are articulate, but are hollow politicians, in it for themselves, not for “we the people.”

We intend to support those candidates so that they can overcome the overwhelming advantages enjoyed by today’s political parties and the big money interests that support them. We’ll find People First candidates, and support them, so that they can win elections, take their places as our nation’s leaders, and change the culture of our Congress from dysfunction into a culture of service to the nation.

People First leaders will destroy the barriers that block Congress from its Constitutional duties.

When People First leaders become the majority in Congress, our legislators will be free of the barriers that block us from solving the real problems of the nation. What barriers…?

…blind allegiance to a political party that is ruled by its own interests, at the expense of the nation;

…the cowardice of party loyalists who follow the party line for fear of losing the next election;

…divisiveness, party obedience, and mistrust that create gridlock and prevent legislators from working together, across the aisle, for the good of the nation (actually, we need to get rid of the aisle, and integrate each of the houses of Congress into one cooperative body, literally and figuratively);

…false, misleading, and flat-out dishonesty that perpetuates these barriers and keeps dysfunctional governance in place;

…the perversion of Constitutional principles and construction of Congressional rules that are designed to overcome party opponents and favor politicians in the dominant party, rather than facilitate governance that serves the American people. We need genuine adherence to the Constitution, rather than the perversion of rules, false interpretation of Constitutional principles, and invention of new, unethical and unconstitutional rules that we see in today’s political world;

…and, finally, destroy the false belief that success in governance means winning, and winning means beating your political opponents. We need to replace that destructive belief with the understanding that the well-being of the nation is the goal—in other words, finding common ground and cooperating with other politicians for the benefit of the nation. Instead of one side destroying the other, the best way to serve the nation is to take advantage of the combined strengths of all of our leaders, again, for the benefit of the American people.

Bottom line

It’s the job of People First to clear away the blockages and perversions that prevent the American system of governance from working the way it was designed to work.

We don’t need to fix our Constitution. It works well when it is allowed to work as intended. We need to clear the way so that it can work again. We will do that by replacing politicians with leaders who will serve the nation.
