Draft October 3rd, 2021

What’s the Problem?

Congress is broken and the party system broke it. Problems remain unsolved and opportunities ignored, all because the party system and the dysfunctional leaders it supports are blocking our legislative processes, blocking the functioning of our republic, and blocking the Constitution that governs us all.

What’s the Solution?

Break the party system, elect leaders whose loyalties lie with the people rather than themselves or their parties, and replace party infighting with common sense legislative processes…in other words, People First is the solution.

What is the People First Movement?

We are a grassroots movement to fix our dysfunctional leadership and break the stranglehold of political parties so that our elected leaders can stop our slide to mediocrity, identify and solve the critical problems beleaguering our nation, and restore America to the path set by our Founding Fathers two and a quarter centuries ago.

How Will People First Build a Better Future for America?

We need to put non-political people of character and integrity into office, build a power base of informed voters to support them, and educate and support our voters so that they’ll understand and vote for a vision of America that serves the people, not the interests of political parties and special interests.

What Does People First Look Like?

We’re a nationwide, grassroots movement, organized locally, whose main operations focus on recruiting and vetting outstanding candidates, funding the effort, and harnessing the “power of the people” in support of legislation that serves the people and solves the problems that threaten our nation and the world.

Who Are People First Candidates, and How Do We Find Them?

We need candidates of proven ability, integrity, and character to lead us…candidates who are free of political parties, free of obligations to big money and special interests, and free of self-dealing and conflicts of interest. In other words, we need candidates who will serve the people first and foremost.

What Can YOU Do?

Mainly, you can vote for leaders of ability, character, and integrity, whose sole purpose is your well-being and your quality of life. You can also talk to everyone you know, contribute, sign up as a People First supporter, and, if you can, volunteer to help us get America back on the right path.

What’s Our Opposition; What Are We Up Against?

Entrenched interests of all kinds will line up against us—self-serving politicians, political parties of all stripes, big businesses, organized labor, bureaucracies of all kinds, and probably others we haven’t yet identified. We don’t want to “drain the swamp.” We want to get out of the swamp and create a new ground of being for governance in America.

What Does Success Look Like?

Congress will look and act differently…effectiveness will replace dysfunction and gridlock; major problems will be solved; our presence and effectiveness on the world stage will grow by leaps and bounds; it’s a long and gratifying list.

What Are the Arguments Against the People First?
Why Are They Wrong?

Why are we not just another political party? Why won’t human nature overcome our altruistic goals…after all, people are self-serving and selfish, aren’t they? What makes us think we can overcome the huge, powerful, and deeply entrenched people and organizations that will all line up against us? …and other legitimate concerns that we have to overcome…

The Promise of America

The success of the People First, Rescue America Now plan will change the way we govern ourselves by re-embracing the founding principles of our Constitution.
